THE MAGIC FLOUNDER is a one-hour play for young audiences. It is a dramatization of the old tale of a magic fish, and what can happen when people are not satisfied with the good life they have. The cast includes speaking roles for 3 women, 1 man, and 5 young people, plus a flexible number of ad-libbing villagers of all ages. The plot has a young protagonist, several arcs, a magic fish, spectacle, and suspense.
THE MAGIC FLOUNDER was produced by Matchbox Children’s Theatre, Austin, MN, on Feb 9-12, 2012. Its five private and public performances played to a total audience of 2,500 people. The script has subsequently been tendered to a play publishing company for consideration.
